The Singapore points ladder
The WTA event guide lists 500 points for the Singapore champion, 325 for the runner-up, 195 for semifinalists and 108 for quarterfinalists. A second-round finish normally earns 60, while a first-round loss earns one. These are finishing-round awards, not amounts added together after every round.
Why the bye rule matters for Eala
Under the 2026 WTA rulebook, a player who receives a bye and loses her first match played receives first-round losers’ points. A place in round two through a bye therefore does not automatically secure the ordinary second-round award. In Singapore’s draw, winning the opening match after a bye takes a player into the quarterfinals. This is a conditional explanation, not a prediction of Eala’s result.
Points earned are not a guaranteed ranking jump
The singles ranking uses a rolling 52-week period and 18 tournament results, subject to mandatory-event rules and exceptions; the WTA Finals can count as an additional event. A new award can interact with expiring or replaced results. Other players’ totals also change. For a reliable projection, check the player’s counting results, points dropping off and nearby competitors before calculating a position. This guide deliberately avoids promising a specific rank from a single Singapore finish.
