Brunson delivers an update before training camp

Jalen Brunson says he has been fully cleared following offseason surgery on his left wrist, putting the New York Knicks guard on course to begin training camp without restrictions.

Brunson shared the update during a live Roommates Show event on Thursday, September 24, according to SNY and Hoops Wire. The procedure took place in July, after New York’s championship run.

SNY reported that Brunson sustained the injury late in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference finals and continued playing through the postseason. His clearance follows roughly two months of recovery from surgery.

The update gives the Knicks more certainty about the availability of their lead guard as they prepare to defend the title. Brunson averaged 26 points and 6.8 assists across 74 regular-season appearances last season, according to Hoops Wire.

He increased his scoring average to 28.4 points in the playoffs and earned Finals MVP honors. The immediate next step is returning to the team’s full camp workload.
